This Angel's Envy Cellar Collection Vol. 5 is a straight rye whiskey finished in French Oak Extra Anejo tequila barrels that had previously held agave distillate. The straight rye is aged up to seven years, finished up to twelve months in the tequila casks, then blended with an eleven-year-old rye, and bottled at 52.1% ABV (104.2 proof). Tasting notes from the producer describe a floral, fruit-forward nose with toasty vanilla; a palate of baking spices, cracked pepper, herbal agave, and brown sugar; and a soft finish of orange-blossom honey and French oak.
