Don Julio 70 is the brand's anejo claro (cristalino) tequila, created for the 70th anniversary of founder Don Julio Gonzalez. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, it is aged 18 months in American white oak barrels, then charcoal filtered to remove color while keeping the depth of an anejo. Official tasting notes describe vanilla, honey, fresh agave and a touch of citrus on the nose; a smooth, rich palate of bright agave, caramel and toasted oak; and a clean, warming finish. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). enjoyed neat to appreciate its clarity and complexity.
