La Gritona is a small-batch reposado tequila produced by Vinos y Licores Azteca (NOM 1533) in Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco. It is rested roughly eight months in used American whiskey barrels and made without additives, no sweeteners, coloring or flavorings. Described as a reposado for blanco lovers, it keeps bright, herbal agave character rather than heavy oak. Tasting notes cite raw agave, white flowers and mint on the nose; cooked agave, vegetal notes, black pepper and cinnamon on the palate; and a bright, punchy finish. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Its recognizable recycled-glass bottle is a distinctive pour.
